As well as the shops, they sell via their Internet site (see below).

Bespoke suits by Glover & Riding

Bespoke suits by Glover & Riding

Those of us who like strong, traditional, and smart-looking suits have been very impressed by this long-established 'military and civilian' tailors situated at Aldershot, Hampshire. Much of their business is connected with the military presence in the area, and they have no problem with button-flies, fish-tail backs etc. Their prices are reasonable and excellent value for such quality.
The dear old-fashioned things don't have a website - or even an e-mail address - but they know how to make a good suit!
Their address is:-
Queens Avenue, Aldershot GU11 2BS

Darcy Clothing (formerly The Vintage Shirt Co.)

Darcy Clothing (formerly The Vintage Shirt Co.)

Deservedly successful in providing new clothing in vintage and historic styles, they have come a long way since opening their shop in Lewes, Sussex, and are now Internet-based.
Their range of stiff collars is huge, but they also sell tunic shirts, collar studs, armbands, sock suspenders, watch-chains, self-tie white and black bow-ties, cravats, cummerbunds, even top hats, spats and monocles!
Their underwear range is limited but interesting, with button-front trunks in various sizes, and some button-front vests. Looking through their website is a real teat!

The name is probably intended to say it all - country and hunting wear is the main business of this mail order retailer. Their brochure dropped uninvited - but not unwelcome - on the doormat a few weeks ago. The last page has a striking picture of a handsome man in a superb tweed suit. Unfortunately, this wasn't obtainable on their website, but the same guy and suit is on their home page, surrounded by dogs. You may have to be content with a Tattersall shirt or tweed cap!

Vedoneire - the last maker of button-front underwear?

Vedoneire - the last maker of button-front underwear?

Winter draws on and many TAG members will want to enjoy the warmth and comfort of traditional button-front long underwear. But where to get new supplies? Virtually the only maker left is the Irish firm of Vedoneire.
They sell both wool and cotton button front vests and long johns (albeit with the pants buttons horizontal and not vertical), as well as a wide range of classic male underwear - their classic white trunks can be recommended for summer wear. Prices are on the high side but perhaps they deserve some rewards for their enterprise!
